PUNTER MCLAIN, MORAVIAN DEFENSE RANKED NATIONALLY

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Junior punter John McLain (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere HS) is ranked 36th in the nation in punting and the Moravian College defense is ranked twice in the top 40 of the second release of the NCAA Division III football statistics for the 2002 season.

McLain is averaging 38.9 yards per punt this season and he has punted 14 times with four punts of over 50 yards.

The Greyhounds, who are 1-1 on the year, are 28th in the nation in total defense, allowing just 239 yards per game and the squad is 39th in the country in rushing defense, only allowing 83.5 yards per contest on the ground.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, September 28th when the Greyhounds will host nationally-ranked Widener University in a Middle Atlantic Conference game beginning at 1:00 p.m.
