LAWRENCE NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Moravian College junior setter Amy Lawrence (Gettysburg, PA/ Delone Catholic HS) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Lawrence, who was also named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week on September 9th, led the Greyhounds to a pair of victories last week and a 2-1 record. She guided Moravian to victories over Muhlenberg College, 3-1, and Albright College, 3-0. The Greyhounds only loss of the week was a 3-2 setback to King’s College in a battle of two of the top five-ranked teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Moravian was fourth and King’s was ranked fifth prior to the match.

For the week, Lawrence averaged 10.50 assists in 12 games and she added 1.25 kills, 2.83 digs and 0.75 service aces per game while hitting .308. Lawrence did not have a hitting error in either of the victories last week and was a perfect four-of-four on hitting attempts at Albright.

Moravian is 10-4 on the season and will return to action on Tuesday, October 1st in a Commonwealth Conference match with Juniata College, ranked third in the region and fourth in the country, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
