ZIPF NAMED COMMONWEALTH WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Moravian College junior outside hitter Kim Zipf (Wyomissing,
PA/Holy Name HS) has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Volleyball
Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Zipf, who was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for
the second time this season, paced the Greyhounds to a 2-1 record last week including a
3-0 victory over Eastern University, which was ranked 25th in the nation last week by the
American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Greyhounds also defeated Rutgers-Newark, 3-0,
but fell to Commonwealth Conference rival Juniata College, 3-0. Zipf’s best
individual match last week was in the victory over Eastern when she had 13 kills, 15 digs
and four service aces. For the week, Zipf average 3.38 kills and 4.50
digs per game while contributing five service aces.
The Greyhounds are 12-5 on the year and will host Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday,
October 9th in a Commonwealth Conference match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
