HENNESSY NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Freshman pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth consecutive week.

Hennessy tossed a pair of victories as Moravian posted a 3-1 record last week. Hennessy began the week with a 2-1 victory over Rowan University. The run allowed by Hennessy in the game snapped a scoreless inning streak at 23 2/3 innings but she only allowed three hits and a walk while fanning nine in the win. Hennessy tossed her fifth shutout of the season with an 8-0 victory over Widener University. She scattered two hits and allowed two walks while striking out nine. Hennessy has struck out 79 batters in 68 1/3 innings this season, and she has a 9-2 record.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 8th in a home Commonwealth Conference doubleheader with Elizabethtown College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
