ROTZELL & MOORE NAMED ECAC DIVISION III FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

CENTERVILLE, MA --- Sophomore Kirsten Rotzell (Bangor, PA/Bangor HS) and junior Joe Moore (Andover, NJ/Newton HS) of the Moravian College women’s and men’s outdoor track & field teams have been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Field Athletes for the Week for their performances last week.

Rotzell, a sprinter and jumper, won the long jump and triple jump to lead the Greyhound women's team at the non-scoring Muhlenberg College Invitational last Saturday afternoon. Rotzell captured the long jump with a leap of 5.29 meters (17 feet, 4 1/4 inches), and she won the triple jump with a distance of 11.24 meters (36 feet, 10 1/2 inches), just one-half of an inch shy of qualifying for the national championships. Rotzell also finished second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.94 seconds, and she placed third in the 200-meter dash in 26.73 seconds.

Moore, a sprinter and jumper, placed first in the 100-meter dash and the long jump to lead the Moravian men's team at the Muhlenberg Invitational. Moore won the 100-meter dash in 10.98 seconds, and he captured the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 7.28 meters (23 feet, 10 3/4 inches). Moore also competed on the 4x100-meter relay team, which finished in second place with a time of 43.21 seconds.

Rotzell and Moore will compete at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee on April 11th and 12th.
