WOZNIAK & WYERS NAMED MORAVIAN STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Senior Tara Wozniak (Roseland, NJ/West Essex Regional HS) from the women’s basketball team and junior Kevin Wyers (Hamilton Square, NJ/Notre Dame HS) of the men’s basketball squad have been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Wozniak, a guard, led the Greyhounds to a 75-60 victory over Drew University in the team’s only contest last week. Wozniak scored a game and season high 18 points in the win and she added four assists, four rebounds and three steals. Moravian is currently 4-2 on the season and will return to action on Saturday, January 4th in a non-conference contest at Wilkes University beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Wyers, a guard, had his best night in a Moravian uniform, leading the Greyhounds to an 87-55 victory over Drew University in the Greyhounds only game last week. Wyers scored a career best 19 points in the victory and he grabbed a career high eight rebounds. Wyers also tied his career high with three steals while playing 26 minutes in the game. He shot 62.5 percent (five of eight) from the floor and 100 percent at the foul line (six of six). Moravian is 5-1 on the season and will not play again until January 7th when the team travels to Delaware Valley College for a 7:00 p.m. start.
