SARNOCINSKI NAMED MORAVIAN STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Senior Kristen Sarnocinski (Harleysville, PA/Germantown Academy HS) from the women’s basketball team has been named the Moravian College Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Sarnocinski led the Greyhounds to an 82-68 victory over previously undefeated Wilkes University in non-conference action last week. Moravian improved to 5-2 with the victory in its first game of 2003. Sarnocinski helped key a 33-13 run by the Greyhounds in the final 8:31 of the first half to earn the victory at Wilkes. She had five of her team high 16 points during the run including a three-pointer to give the Greyhounds a five-point lead with 7:55 to play. Sarnocinski was seven of 15 from the floor and two of three behind the three-point line in the game and she had a team high six rebounds to lead Moravian to a 43-37 advantage on the boards.

Moravian, which has won four straight games, is 5-2 overall this season and returns to action on Monday, January 6th when the Greyhounds host Delaware Valley College in a non-conference contest at 7:00 p.m.
