SARNOCINSKI, REYNOLDS NAMED TO LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE
TEAMS
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Seniors Kristen Sarnocinski (Harleysville, PA/Germantown Academy
HS) and Willie Reynolds (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) from the
Moravian College women’s and men’s basketball teams have been named to the
Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Scholar-Athlete Teams announced at the January
luncheon of the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Media Organization held at Starter’s
Pub Tuesday afternoon.
The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small
college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg
University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III
schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College
and Muhlenberg College.
Sarnocinski, a criminal justice major, is averaging 10.5 points and
4.1 rebounds per game for the Greyhounds, and she has added 25 assists, 13 steals and 15
three-pointers. Sarnocinski, a forward, scored a career high 21 points
last Monday in a 70-59 victory versus Delaware Valley, and she has been named to the Middle
Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team twice. Sarnocinski has helped the
Greyhounds begin the season with a 9-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in the Commonwealth
Conference. Moravian’s only two losses are to a pair of nationally ranked teams.
Joining Sarnocinski on the January Scholar-Athlete Team of the Month
were Maria Stefani from Cedar Crest, Sarah Tuffner of Delaware Valley, Jen Netwall from
DeSales, Vanessa Kraft of East Stroudsburg, Becky Savage from Kutztown and Randi Baran
of Muhlenberg.
Reynolds, a political science major with a minor in history, is averaging
6.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest for Moravian, and he has added 25 assists, seven
steals and six three-pointers. Reynolds, a guard, dished out a career
high ten assists in the Greyhounds’ season opener at Emmanuel College in Boston,
and he has been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team twice. Reynolds has
helped Moravian to a 7-3 start this season and a 2-0 record in the Commonwealth Conference.
Joining Reynolds on the January Scholar-Athlete Team of the Month were
Randall Graves from Delaware Valley, Jeff Clifford of DeSales, David Majeski from East
Stroudsburg, Erik Miller of Kutztown and Raushan Person from Muhlenberg.
The final Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon of 2002-03 is scheduled for
Tuesday, February 18th.
