ZALESKI HONORED AS COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore forwardBrandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/ Hackettstown
HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team has been named the Commonwealth
Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performances last week.
Zaleski, who won the award for the second time this season, led the
Greyhounds to a 3-0 record last week and a pair of victories to help the team remain in
first place in the Commonwealth Conference while averaging 23.0 points and 7.7 rebounds
per game. Zaleski had a double-double in a 65-58 victory at rival Muhlenberg
College with 20 points and 16 rebounds and he contributed 16 points and five boards in
Moravian’s 84-74 victory at Albright College. Zaleski finished the
week with a season high 33 points in the Greyhounds’ 89-75 win over Messiah College.
For the week, Zaleski shot 54.3 percent (25 of 46) from the floor and
90 percent (18 of 20) at the free throw line. Zaleski averaged 32 minutes
per game last week.
The Greyhounds are 15-6 overall and in first place in the Commonwealth Conference with
an 8-2 mark. Moravian will return to action on Tuesday, February 11th in a Commonwealth
game at Elizabethtown College beginning at 8:00 p.m.
