GREYHOUNDS RANKED 11TH IN COMMONWEALTH PRESEASON POLL

ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team, which begins its inaugural NCAA season later this week, has been selected to finish 11th in the Middle Atlantic Conference in a preseason poll of the conference’s coaches.

The Greyhounds, under the direction of head coach Natalie Gozzard, received 16 points in the poll. Drew University was selected as the top team in the preseason, garnering ten first-place votes and 108 points. Susquehanna University was second followed by the University of Scranton, which received the final first place vote, Widener University, Messiah College, Lycoming College, Elizabethtown College, FDU-Florham, King’s College and Wilkes University. Wilkes is also in its first season as a varsity program.

Moravian will open the 2003 season on Saturday, March 1st in a non-conference match against Muhlenberg College at 11:00 a.m. The Greyhounds will begin their 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference season on Thursday, March 20th versus Susquehanna University at 4:00 p.m., which is also Moravian’s home opener
