MORAVIAN NAMES AMY ENDLER FIELD HOCKEY COACH
BETHLEHEM,
PA --- Moravian College has announced that Amy Endler will become just
the fifth head field hockey coach in school history effective immediately.
Endler, who will be in charge of rebuilding the Greyhound field hockey
program that has suffered six straight losing seasons, will continue in her role as an
assistant women’s basketball coach for the Greyhounds, which she began last season.
“Amy brings a wealth of experience, a knowledge of the institution and a strong
record of coaching success on both the high school and intercollegiate levels,” stated Paul
Moyer, Moravian College Director of Athletics & Recreation. “We are
excited about her appointment and expect she will contribute greatly to our future development.”
Endler, a 1993 graduate of Moravian, played one season of field hockey
for the Greyhounds during her four years in Bethlehem, which included an outstanding basketball
career. Endler will be inducted into the Moravian College Hall of Fame
in September 2003.
“I am very excited for this opportunity to be a head coach at my alma mater,” Endler said. “I
look forward to the challenge of leading the field hockey program in a new direction. A
team, which is competitive in the Commonwealth Conference.”
Prior to returning to Moravian last fall, Endler spent ten years on
the high school level. She was the head basketball and field hockey coach Roselle Park
(NJ) High School. Endler led the Roselle Park field hockey squad from
1994 until 2001, leading the 1994 team to the Mountain Valley Conference Championship,
and she was the head girl's basketball coach from 1996 until 2002.
Endler received her Master’s Degree from Montclair State University.
