DERINGER NAMED MAC COMMONWEALTH WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF
THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior Becky Deringer (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) of
the Moravian College women’s tennis team has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference
Commonwealth Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Deringer, part of Moravian’s top doubles team with senior Lauren
Castagna (Mt. Bethel, PA/Bangor HS) and the Greyhounds’ number two singles
player, posted a 2-1 record last week in both singles and doubles competition. Deringer earned
victories in both singles and doubles in the Greyhounds’ 9-0 wins against DeSales
University and Widener University. She suffered losses in both flights in Moravian’s
5-4 win at Susquehanna University.
Moravian is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the MAC Commonwealth this fall. The Greyhounds will
return to action on Tuesday, September 23rd when they host rival Muhlenberg College at
3:30 p.m.
