FOUR GREYHOUNDS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA DIVISION III FOOTBALL STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Junior punter John McLain (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere HS),
sophomore defensive back/kick returner Tyler Chomik (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central
Catholic HS) and senior defensive backs John Panikiewsky (Carteret, NJ/Carteret
HS) and Nate Pogue (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) of the Moravian
College football team are ranked in the third week of the 2003 NCAA Division III football
statistics released Monday.
McLain is ranked 33rd in the nation in punting with an average of 39.5
yards per punt on 18 attempts. McLain has a long punt of 48 yards this
year and has placed three punts inside the 20-yard line and had one fair caught.
Chomik is 27th in the nation in kickoff return average with an average
of 28.0 yards per run back on six returns.
Pogue and Panikiewsky are tied for 13th in the country
in passes defended with 2.0 per contest. Both Pogue and Panikiewsky have
two interceptions and six pass break-ups this season.
Moravian is 2-2 overall and in the Middle Atlantic Conference this season. The Greyhounds
will return to action on Saturday, October 4th in a Middle Atlantic Conference home game
at King’s College beginning at 1:30 p.m.
