SIRACUSA NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore middle hitter Lindsey Siracusa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury
HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been named the
Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Siracusa led Moravian to its eighth straight postseason berth, a 5-0
record and the championships at the Bridgewater State (MA) College Halloween Classic while
averaging 3.71 kills and 1.24 blocks per game with a .303 hitting percentage. Siracusa opened
the week with 12 kills, three service aces and five blocks in Moravian’s 3-1 Commonwealth
Conference victory versus Messiah College to clinch the third seed in the Commonwealth
Conference Playoffs.
Siracusa, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Bridgewater State
tournament, had ten kills, three digs and a block in a 3-0 victory versus the University
of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Siracusa added 14 kills, three blocks and
a service ace in a 3-0 sweep of Colby-Sawyer College, and she had ten kills, four blocks
and a service ace in a second sweep of Colby-Sawyer. Siracusa finished
the tournament with 17 kills and six blocks against host Bridgewater State.
Moravian is 25-8 overall and will be the third seed in the Commonwealth Conference Playoffs,
traveling to second seed Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m.
