PIKE & GAUN NAMED TO COMMONWEALTH ALL-CONFERENCE FIELD HOCKEY SQUADS

ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior midfielder Pam Pike (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen HS) of the Moravian College field hockey team has been named to the 2003 Commonwealth All-Conference First Team announced by the Middle Atlantic Corporation Wednesday while freshman goalie Amanda Gaun (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham HS) earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 4-14 record this season under first-year head coach Amy Endler. Of Moravian’s losses, two were in overtime and another two were by 1-0 scores.

Pike, who earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team for the second straight year, had a goal and two assists for the Greyhounds this season. Pike’s goal was a game-winning tally off a penalty stroke in a 3-2 victory against FDU-Florham. Pike played just two seasons at Moravian after transferring from Elizabethtown College.

Gaun played all 1,286 minutes in goal for the Greyhounds this season. She had a 2.72 goals-against average and made 199 saves, which is currently ranked tenth in the nation in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III statistics. Gaun did have a pair of shutouts in her debut season for Moravian.
