MORAVIAN WOMEN’S SOCCER MOVES TO 7TH IN MID-ATLANTIC REGION BY NSCAA

MISSION, KS --- The Moravian College women’s soccer team moved up one spot to seventh in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Women’s Soccer Regional Poll released Monday.

The rankings are based on records through November 9th. The University of Scranton holds down the top spot in the region, and the Royals are ranked second in the nation. Messiah College is second in the region and 11th nationally while The College of New Jersey is third in the region and 18th in the nation. Muhlenberg College is fourth in the region and received votes in the national poll while Montclair State University is fifth. Rounding out the regional rankings are Gettysburg College in sixth, Moravian, Lebanon Valley College in eight, Eastern University in ninth and Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in tenth.

The Greyhounds, who have a record of 10-3-4 overall, will play at Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday, November 12th in the first round ofthe 2003 Eastern College Athletic Conference Mid-Atlantic Championships. Moravian is the sixth seed while Johns Hopkins is the third seed. The winner of the match will battle second seeded Lebanon Valley on Saturday, November 15th at 11:30 a.m. at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Moravian has already tied Lebanon Valley, 0-0, and lost to the Flying Dutchmen, 1-0. The Greyhounds also tied Muhlenberg, 0-0, and dropped a 3-0 decision to Messiah and a 2-0 match to Scranton. Moravian also has a 0-0 tie with Virginia Wesleyan College, the 12th ranked team in the nation.
