MORAVIAN’S BRANDON ZALESKI NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior forward Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown
HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team has been named the Commonwealth
Conference Player of the Week for his performance last week.
Zaleski led Moravian to a 2-0 record to start the 2003-04 season and
the championship of the 22nd Annual Scotty Wood Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College. Zaleski was
named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds
per game. Zaleski opened the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds in
the Greyhounds 77-62 victory over Elms College in the first round. Zaleski then
scored a game high 26 points with six rebounds and four steals in Moravian’s 60-46
victory over Roger Williams University in the championship game. Zaleski became
the 17th player in Moravian history to reach 1,000 points when he hit a lay-up with 18:51
remaining in the second half of the Roger Williams game. Zaleski now has
1,009 points in just 54 career games, and he has been in double figures in 50 of those
contests.
Moravian will return to action on Tuesday, November 25th in a non-conference game at
DeSales University beginning at 8:00 p.m.
