SEAMAN & WENDERFER NAMED MORAVIAN STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE
WEEK
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Sophomore Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic
HS) of the women’s basketball team and sophomore Steve Wenderfer
(Chester, NJ/Mendham HS) from the men’s basketball squad have been named
the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performance last week.
Seaman, a forward, netted a career high 24 points and grabbed a career
best 12 rebounds in Moravian’s only game last week, a 76-60 loss to nationally ranked
DeSales University. Seaman, who led all scorers and rebounders in the
game, had 12 points and eight boards in the first half as the Greyhounds only trailed by
two points, 34-32 at the break. Seaman shot eight of 14 from the floor
and eight of 11 from the foul line in the game while contributing four steals, two blocked
shots and an assist in the contest. Moravian is 1-2 on the season and will return to action
on Tuesday, December 2nd when the squad opens its 2003-04 Commonwealth Conference season
at Widener University at 7:00 p.m.
Wenderfer, a forward, also had career highs with nine points and seven
rebounds in the Greyhounds’ 78-56 loss to DeSales in the men’s contest. Wenderfer was
four for eight from the floor with one three-pointer, and he also had an assist and a blocked
shot in the game. The Moravian men’s squad is 2-1 on the season and will host rival
Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, December 2nd at 8:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
