THREE GREYHOUNDS NAMED TO MAC ALL-CONFERENCE CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS

ANNVILLE, PA --- The members of the 2003 Moravian College men’s and women’s cross country teams have been named to the Middle Atlantic All-Conference Teams announced by the MAC Office. Junior Heather McGarvie (Medford, NJ/Shawnee HS) garnered a spot on the women’s first team while sophomore Lauren Bahnatka (West Chester, PA/Henderson HS) and sophomore Greg Rarick (Hazleton, PA/Drums HS) were on the All-Conference Second Teams.

McGarvie earned her First Team position with a tenth place finish in a time of 25:26.68 on the 6,000-meter course at the 2003 MAC Championships hosted by DeSales University. The Greyhounds placed sixth out of 13 schools, the first time in 11 years that Moravian had not won the conference championship. McGarvie has been on the All-Conference First Team twice and the Second Team once during her Moravian career.

Bahnatka garnered a spot on the All-Conference Second Team with a 19th place showing in the 123-competitor race in a time of 26:03.81.

Rarick placed 18th in the men’s race to earn All-Conference Second Team honors and lead Moravian to a sixth place team finish at the MAC Championships. Rarick finished the 8,000-meter course in a time of 28:07.81.
