THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College softball team and the squad
itself are ranked in the first NCAA Division III statistics ranking of the season released
Wednesday.
Senior third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is fifth
in the nation in doubles per game at 0.55, 22nd in slugging percentage at .803 and 45th
in batting average at .465. Junior shortstop Heather Bortz (Allentown, PA/Parkland
HS) is 13th in batting average with a .500 average while sophomore pitcher Meagan
Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) is 11th in saves with two and 21st
in earned run average at 0.70.
The Greyhounds are third in the country in winning percentage at .955, eighth in fielding
percentage at .969 and 24th in earned run average at 1.20.
Moravian, which has an overall record of 21-1 and is ranked first in the nation in the
latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, is scheduled to
return to action on Thurs, April 15th in a non-conference doubleheader at Delaware Valley
College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
