THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College softball team and the squad
itself are ranked in the second NCAA Division III statistics ranking of the season released
Wednesday.
Senior third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is 25th
in the nation in doubles per game at 0.43 and 22nd in slugging percentage at .800. Junior
shortstop Heather Bortz (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) is 25th in batting
average with a .480 average while sophomore pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold,
NJ/Freehold Township HS) is 17th in earned run average at 0.57.
The Greyhounds are second in the country in winning percentage at .964, fifth in fielding
percentage at .972 and 15th in earned run average at 1.01.
Moravian, which has an overall record of 29-1 and is ranked first in the nation in the
latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, is scheduled to
return to action on Thursday, April 22nd in a non-conference doubleheader versus William
Paterson (NJ) University beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Bethlehem.
