MORAVIAN’S CORDANI NAMED TO MAC ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM
ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore midfielder Jess Cordani (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point
Pleasant Boro HS) of the Moravian College women’s lacrosse team has been
named to the 2004 All-Middle Atlantic Conference Second Team announced Tuesday.
Cordani is the first player in Moravian’s brief two-year history
as an NCAA varsity program to earn All-Conference honors. Cordani led
Moravian in scoring this season with 38 goals and two assists for 40 points. She also had
both of the Greyhounds’ game-winning goals, and she added 42 ground balls, 36 draw
controls and 77 caused turnovers. Cordani is currently the nation’s
lead in caused turnovers per match at 4.64.
In two seasons, Cordani, who also plays soccer at Moravian, has 49 goals
and four assists for 53 points, 91 ground balls, 54 draw controls and 119 caused turnovers.
Moravian completed its second NCAA varsity season with an overall record of 2-12 and
a 1-9 slate in MAC action.
