MORAVIAN’S SEAMAN AND WYERS NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE
BASKETBALL TEAMS OF THE MONTH
ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic
HS) and senior Kevin Wyers (Hamilton Square, NJ/Notre Dame HS) from
the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College
Basketball Teams of the Month for December by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball
Organization at its first luncheon of the 2003-04 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small
college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg
University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III
schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College
and Muhlenberg College.
Seaman, a forward, has helped the Moravian women open the year with
a 4-2 record. Seaman currently leads the squad in rebounding at 10.2 rebounds
per game, and she is scoring 13.5 points per contest. Seaman has also
contributed a team high 18 steals to go along with 12 assists and six blocked shots. She
was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week on December 1st.
Joining Seaman on the December Team of the Month were Courtney Porzio
from Cedar Crest, Bridget Golden of Delaware Valley, Amy Yencho from DeSales, Tiffany Barnes
of East Stroudsburg, Danielle Warntz from Kutztown and Erin Devaney of Muhlenberg.
Wyers, a guard, has led the Greyhounds to a 3-3 record in the first
month of the season. Wyers is second on the squad in scoring at 12.8 points
per game, and he is contributing 3.7 rebounds per contest. Wyers has made
12 of Moravian’s 36 three-pointers this season and has added eight steals and six
assists. Wyers was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 22nd Annual Scotty Wood Tournament
to open the season.
Joining Wyers on the December Team of the Month were Javon Alston of
Delaware Valley, Kyle Koch from DeSales, Rich Baker of East Stroudsburg, T.J. Mann from
Kutztown and Chase Licata of Muhlenberg.
The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January
13th at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
