SEAMAN & WENDERFER NAMED MORAVIAN COLLEGE
STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Sophomore Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic
HS) from the women’s basketball team and sophomore Steve Wenderfer
(Chester, NJ/West Morris Mendham HS) of the men’s basketball squad have
been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last
week.
Seaman, a forward, led the Greyhounds to a 1-1 record last week in Commonwealth
Conference action. Seaman netted 12 points and added eight rebounds and
five steals in a 67-59 loss at Lebanon Valley College. She also had ten points and six
rebounds in a 70-55 victory versus Juniata College. Seaman shot 33.0 percent
for the week (nine of 27) from the field. Moravian is 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the Commonwealth
Conference. The Greyhounds will host Wilkes University on Monday, January 19th in a non-conference
game versus Wilkes University beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
Wenderfer, a forward, had a career week for the Greyhounds as Moravian
posted a 1-2 record. Wenderfer netted a new career high in each of Moravian’s
contests last week. He had 12 points and three assists in a 74-58 loss to Lebanon Valley
College. Wenderfer scored 14 points and added four rebounds in an 83-72
victory over the University of Scranton. Wenderfer finished off the week
with 18 points and seven rebounds in a 93-75 loss to Juniata College in Commonwealth Conference
action. Wenderfer, who has scored in double figures in each of the last
four games, made 54.8 percent of his field goal attempts (17 of 31) last week. Moravian
is 8-7 on the season and will return to action on Tuesday, January 20th in a Commonwealth
Conference game at Albright College beginning at 8:00 p.m.
