APPLEGATE NAMED TO MAC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

ANNVILLE, PA --- Freshman forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named to the Middle Atlantic Corporation Weekly Honor Roll for her performances last week.

Applegate helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 mark last week, including a 70-47 victory over Albright College to clinch a berth in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament. She had 12 points, two assists, and one block in Moravian’s win over Albright. Applegate also scored a career high 22 points and grabbed a career best 12 rebounds, and had three blocked shots and one steal to lead Moravian to an 81-68 victory over Elizabethtown College in Commonwealth Conference action to close out the 2003-2004 regular season. Applegate’s 22 points came off a seven of eight performance from the floor and an eight of eight afternoon at the foul line. For the week, Applegate was 11 of 15 (73.3 %) from the field and 12 of 14 (85.7 %) from the foul line.

Moravian is 17-8 overall and 10-4 in Commonwealth Conference action. The Greyhounds will host Lebanon Valley College in the semifinal game on Wednesday, February 25th at 7:00 p.m.
