MEN’S SOCCER SELECTED THIRD IN COACHES POLL
ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian
College men’s soccer team has been picked to finish third in the 2004 Commonwealth
Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches.
The Greyhounds received 34
points and one first-place vote. Messiah College, which has won seven consecutive Commonwealth
championships, was selected first with 47 points and garnered five first-place votes
while Elizabethtown College was picked second with 41 points and had two first place
votes.
Moravian, under the direction
of sixth-year head coach Eric Lambinus, returns five starters and 16
letterwinners from last year’s 4-12-3 squad that made the Commonwealth playoffs
for the fourth year in a row.
The Greyhounds will open
their 2004 campaign on Wednesday, September 1st in a non-conference match versus Drew
University at 2:00 p.m.
