MORAVIAN WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL SELECTED FOURTH IN COMMONWEALTH POLL

ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been selected to finish fourth in the 2004 Commonwealth Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches.

The Greyhounds, who have had eight straight 20-win seasons and eight consecutive postseason appearances, received 32 points while Juniata College, which had 49 points and seven first place votes, was selected as the preseason favorite. Lebanon Valley College was second at 39 points and a first place vote followed by Susquehanna University with 36 points.

Moravian, under the direction of 12th-year head coach Shelley Bauder, returns two starters and four letterwinners from last year’s 26-10 squad that played in the Commonwealth title match for the eighth straight season and made the school’s third consecutive appearance in the ECAC South Championships.

The Greyhounds will open their 2004 campaign on Wednesday, September 1st in a non-conference match at DeSales University.
