MORAVIAN SENIOR JILL VACCARO NAMED COMMONWEALTH WOMEN’S SOCCER GOALIE OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior goalie Jill Vaccaro (South Salem, NY/John Jay HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Goalie/Defender of the Week for her performance last week.

Vaccaro opened her senior season with a pair of victories for the Greyhounds. Vaccaro began the season, allowing just one goal, which game in the final 15 seconds of the match, while making four saves in a 2-1 victory versus Montclair State University. Vaccaro then picked up her first shutout of the season, making three saves in a 2-0 shutout of Drew University. The shutout was the 16th solo shutout of Vaccaro’s career.

Moravian, which is 2-0 on the year, will return to action on Tuesday, September 7th in a non-conference match versus St. Mary’s College of Maryland beginning at 4:00 p.m.
