SIX GREYHOUNDS & TEAM RANKED IN SECOND
NCAA FOOTBALL STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2004

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Six different players from the Moravian College football team are ranked in six categories in the second NCAA III Division football statistical ranking released Tuesday. The Greyhounds are also listed in seven team categories in the statistics through games of September 19th. Sophomore tailback Chris Jacoubs (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Regional HS) is ranked third in the nation in rushing with an average of 177.5 yards per game, and he is tied for fourth in scoring at 15.0 points per game and 11th in all purpose yards per game at 189.0. Freshman linebacker Arturo Duran (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood HS) is tied for 12th in interceptions per game with an average of 1.0. Senior linebacker Bill Carasia (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Regional HS), junior defensive back Gerald Weiss (Gilbertsville, PA/St. Pius X HS), sophomore defensive end Matt Lieberwirth (Chester, NJ/Mendham HS) are tied for 32nd in the nation in forced fumbles with an average of 0.5. Junior defensive back Tyler Chomik (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) is tied for 24th in passes defended with an average of 2.0 per game. As a team, Moravian is third in rushing offense at 358.0 yards per game, tied for tenth in scoring defense at 6.5 points allowed per game, 15th in rushing defense at 48.5 yards per game, 16th in total offense at 456.5 yards per game, 24th in total defense at 208.0 yards allowed per game and tied for 32nd in turnover margin with a +1.5 per game.

The Greyhounds are 2-0 overall this season and in the Middle Atlantic Conference. Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 25th in an MAC game at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania beginning at 1:00 p.m.
