GREYHOUNDS & TEAM RANKED IN SIXTH NCAA FOOTBALL
STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2004
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three
different players from the Moravian College football team are ranked in five categories
in the sixth NCAA III Division football statistical ranking released Tuesday. The Greyhounds
are also listed in two team categories in the statistics through games of October 16th.
Sophomore tailback Chris
Jacoubs (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Regional HS) is fifth in the nation
in rushing with an average of 169.8 yards per game, and sixth in scoring at 13.3 points
per game and 12th in all purpose yards per game at 176.2. Jacoubs also
has the eighth highest (257 yards) single game rushing yardage and 12th best (273 yards)
all-purpose single game yardage this season among all NCAA Division III players. Senior
linebacker Bill Carasia (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven HS) is tied
for seventh in the country in forced fumbles with 0.60 per contest while senior wide
receiver Jed Warsager (Andover, NJ/Newton HS) is fourth in the nation
in kickoff returns with an average of 34.8 yards per kickoff return.
As a team, Moravian is 19th
in rushing offense at 266.0 yards per game and tied for 10th in turnover margin with
a +1.70 per game.
The Greyhounds are 6-0 overall
this season and in the Middle Atlantic Conference for only the second time in school
history and the first time since the 1940 season. Moravian is scheduled to return to
action on Saturday, October 23rd in an MAC game at Lycoming College at David Person Field
in Williamsport beginning at 1:00 p.m.
