THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD RANKED IN FIRST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2005 SEASON

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team is ranked nationally in three statistical categories and three different Greyhound players are ranked in six categories in the first NCAA Division III statistics ranking of the season released Tuesday.

Junior pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) is ranked in four categories. Hennessy is tied for ninth in victories with 13, tied for tenth in saves with two, 12th in earned run average at 0.56 and 22nd in strikeouts per seven innings with an average of 8.5. Junior designated player Richelle McWilliams (Riegelsville, PA/Easton HS) is 21st in the nation in home runs per game at 0.25 while senior shortstop Heather Bortz (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) is 40th in the country with a batting average of .463.

Moravian is third in the country in fielding percentage at .980, 14th in earned run average at 0.79 and tied for 18th in won-loss percentage at .857.

The Greyhounds, who are 22-3 overall and ranked 18th in the nation in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, are slated to return to action on Thursday, April 14th in a non-conference doubleheader versus Delaware Valley College in Bethlehem beginning at 3:00 p.m.
