TWO GREYHOUNDS NAMED TO COMMONWEALTH ALL-CONFERENCE WOMEN’S
VOLLEYBALL TEAMS
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior middle hitter Lindsey Siracusa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury
HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been named to
the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team announced Wednesday while junior outside hitter Kelly
Bauer (Hellertown, PA/Notre Dame HS) earned a spot on the All-Conference Second
Team.
The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 21-9 record this season, including a ten-match winning
streak through the end of September and beginning of October. Moravian was also 4-3 in
Commonwealth Conference action this fall and returned to the postseason after missing out
last fall. The 20-win season for Moravian is the ninth in the last ten years for the program.
Siracusa leads Moravian with a .295 hitting percentage and 110 blocks
while contributing 375 kills, 57 digs and 42 service aces. Siracusa was
a member of the All-Conference Second Team as a freshman in 2002, as well as a member of
the All-Conference First Team as a junior in 2004. She was also a member of the AVCA All-Mid-Atlantic
Region Team a year ago and was an Honorable Mention AVCA All-American.
In four seasons, Siracusa has made 1,553 kills, a school record. She
has 418 blocks (second all-time), 324 digs, 150 service aces and 50 assists.
Bauer, who is in her second season at Moravian since transferring from
Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, leads the Greyhounds with 405 kills and 336 digs.
She also has 40 service aces, 26 assists, and 38 blocks.
Moravian will return to action on Wednesday, November 2nd in a Commonwealth Conference
Semifinal match at nationally-ranked Juniata College beginning at 7:00 p.m.
