MORAVIAN’S T.J. HIRSCH & BENJAMIN
LARSON HONORED WITH
MIDDLE ATLANTIC CONFERENCE WEEKLY MEN’S LACROSSE AWARDS
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior midfielder T.J. Hirsch (Putnum
Valley, NY/Walter Panas HS) of the Moravian College men’s
lacrosse team has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Player
of the Week for his performance last week while freshman goalie
Benjamin Larson (Dover, DE/Dover HS) earned MAC
Goalie/Defender of the Week honors.
The
duo helped Moravian extend its winning streak to three straight
matches with an 11-4 victory over DeSales University in MAC action
and a 12-2 win versus Alvernia College last week.
Hirsch netted a goal and added six ground balls
and won nine-of-12 face-offs in an 11-4 victory over DeSales. Hirsch
then netted two goals and had two assists in Moravian’s victory
versus Alvernia. He had four more ground balls and won seven-of
eight face-offs in the win. For the week, Hirsch
won 16 of 20 face-offs and he scored a pair of man-ups goals.
Larson
made 12 saves and allowed just four goals in the win over DeSales.
He also had two ground balls and registered a shot on goal late
in the match. In Moravian’s versus Alvernia, Larson
played a scoreless first half with three saves and three ground
balls before being replaced at halftime.
Moravian, 4-8 overall, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday,
April 18th in an MAC match versus Drew University on the HUB Quad
beginning at 4:00 p.m.
