MORAVIAN’S CLINE & BALTZ EARN
ALL-CONFERENCE BASEBALL HONORS
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior first baseman/pitcher Richie Cline
(Union Beach, NJ/Keyport HS) and sophomore outfielder Josh
Baltz (Easton, PA/Easton HS) of the Moravian College baseball
team have been named to the 2006 Commonwealth All-Conference Baseball
Second Team announced Monday by the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate
Athletic Corporation.
Cline
(pictured at right) led the Greyhounds with a .336 average to go
with 44 hits, 26 RBIs, 22 runs, four doubles, three triples, six
home runs, 19 walks and 172 putouts. Cline, who
also saw time at designated hitter and on the mound, tossed 14 innings
with an 0-1 mark, eight walks and five strikeouts while making three
starts for the Greyhounds. Cline finished his career
with 112 hits (ninth all-time at Moravian), 70 RBIs (fourth) and
15 home runs (second).
Baltz
had 44 hits and a .321 average during his second season at Moravian
to go along with 27 runs, 20 RBIs, eight doubles, two home runs,
20 walks and four stolen bases. Baltz also pitched
two scoreless innings with two walks and a strikeout while his 137
at-bats set a new single season Moravian record.
Cline and Baltz were the only
two Greyhound players to start all 37 games this season. Moravian
completed the 2006 season with an overall record of 5-32.
