MORAVIAN’S BRIAN BERGSTOL NAMED TO
GOLF COACHES ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA ALL-REGION TEAM
LINCOLN,
NE --- Moravian College junior Brian Bergstol (Mt. Bethel,
PA/Bangor HS) has been named to the PING/Golf Coaches Association
of America All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team for the third consecutive
season.
Bergstol helped Moravian win the 2006 Commonwealth
Conference Championships, the program's fourth conference title.
The Greyhounds, under the direction of head coach John Makuvek
for the 38th season, won four tournaments throughout the season
and placed in the top five in 13 of 16 tournaments.
At the Commonwealth Conference Championships, Bergstol
earned medalist honors with a 54-hole tournament total of 212, seven
strokes ahead of the next golfer. Bergstol had
a season average of 74.6 strokes per round with a low score of 68
at the York College Spring Invitational at the Outdoor Country Club.
He made it to Moravian’s record books having the lowest season
stroke average with 1,417 strokes in 19 rounds last season. Bergstol
did not have a round in the over 79 during the season and was medalist
in three different tournaments.
