MORAVIAN COLLEGE’S OZZIE BROWN &
NATHANIEL TUSSEY TO COMPETE AT NCAA DIVISION III
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
LISLE, IL --- Moravian College sophomores Ozzie Brown
(Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh HS) and Nathaniel
Tussey (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown HS) will each compete
in two events at the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track &
Field Championships hosted by the Benedictine University in Lisle,
Illinois from Thursday, May 25th through Saturday, May 27th.
Tussey
(pictured at right), who has the 17th best qualifying time in the
400-meter hurdles at a Moravian College record of 53.73, will run
in the event's third heat of the preliminary race on Thursday at
5:30 p.m. central time while trying to make the final that will
be run on Saturday afternoon at 3:25 p.m. central time. Tussey
is making his second trip the national meet after earning All-American
honors back in March with an eighth place finish in the 55-meter
hurdles in the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
Brown
(pictured at left) is making his first trip to the NCAA Championships
and heads into the 200-meter dash preliminaries with the 15th best
time in the nation this spring, a Moravian College record of 21.53
seconds. Brown’s third heat of the preliminary
race is on Thursday at 6:25 p.m. central time with the top eight
competitors advancing to Saturday’s championship race at 3:45
p.m. central time.
Both Tussey and Brown will compete
in the 110-meter high hurdles. Tussey qualified
eighth in a Moravian College record time of 14.55 seconds and will
be in the first heat on Friday at 3:40 p.m. central time while Brown
qualified 16th at 14.76 seconds and is the third heat of the preliminary
races. The finals of the 110-meter high hurdles will be on Saturday
at 1:55 p.m. central time.
