MORAVIAN’S SENIOR MEGAN COLLINS & TRACY FITZPATRICK NAMED
TO NSCAA
ALL-MID-ATLANTIC REGION FIRST TEAM
MISSION, KS --- Senior forward Megan Collins (Rehoboth Beach, DE/Caesar Rodney
HS) and freshman midfielder Tracy Fitzpatrick (Wantage, NJ/High Point
Regional HS) of the Moravian College women's soccer team have been named to
the 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Mid-Atlantic Region First
Team announced Thursday by the NSCAA.
The duo helped the Greyhounds to their best season ever with the program’s first-ever
NCAA Division III Tournament appearance and a 16-6-1 record on the season including an
opening round win in the NCAA Tournament. Moravian had a 5-1-1 mark during the Commonwealth
Conference regular season and made the program’s fourth appearance in the Commonwealth
Conference Tournament, playing for the conference championship for the first time in school
history.
Collins, the 2005 Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year, netted
a team high 16 goals and added six assists for 38 points. Collins had
eight game-winning goals, and she finished her career second all-time at Moravian with
98 points on 41 goals and 16 assists in four seasons. Collins was on the
Commonwealth All-Conference First Team in 2005 and 2003 and was on the Second Team in 2004
and 2002. Collins was also named the first national NSCAA/adidas All-American
for Moravian's women's program, which has posted a record of 135-69-13 in just 12 years
of varsity athletic competition, earning a spot on the Second Team.
Fitzpatrick scored 22 points on eight goals and eight assists. Fitzpatrick added
three game-winning goals and was named to the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team.
