FIVE GREYHOUNDS & TEAM RANKED IN FINAL NCAA FOOTBALL STATISTICS
RELEASE OF 2005 SEASON
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Five different players from the Moravian College football team are
ranked in five categories in the final NCAA III Division football statistical ranking released
Tuesday. The Greyhounds are also listed in the top 100 in six team categories in the statistics
through games of December 17th.
Senior linebacker Chad DiFelice (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl HS) was fifth
in the country in forced fumbles at 0.45 per contest while freshman kicker Brian
Reckenbeil (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS) finished tied for 34th in field goals
per game at 0.8. Junior tailback Chris Jacoubs (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven
Regional HS) was tied for 45th in the nation in rushing with an average of 101.4
yards per game. Senior cornerback Tyler Chomik (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central
Catholic HS) was 22nd in kickoff returns at 25.7 yards per return while senior
quarterback Jerry Venturino (Hopatcong, NJ/Hopatcong HS) was 84th in the
nation in pass efficiency this season with a 120.5 rating.
As a team, Moravian was 43rd in the country in rushing offense with an average of 197.5
yards per game, and the Greyhounds were 43rd in kickoff returns at 20.9 yards per return.
Moravian was also ranked in the top 100 in net punting at 59th with an average of 31.85
net yards per punt, 76th in total defense at 323.4 yards allowed per game, 85th in scoring
offense at 26.6 points per contest and 85th in scoring defense at 20.8 points allowed per
game.
The Greyhounds completed the 2005 season with an overall record of 7-4 this year and
were 5-4 in the Middle Atlantic Conference, which was tied for fourth. Moravian won its
first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Bowl game, defeating Frostburg State (MD)
University, 14-7, in the ECAC Southwest Bowl on November 19th.
