MORAVIAN’S STEPHANIE SEAMAN NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior forward Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic
HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named the
Commonwealth Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance
last week.
Seaman helped the nationally ranked Greyhounds to a 3-0 week including
the championship of the 5th Annual Starters Moravian Winter Classic. During the tournament, Seaman became
the 16th player in Moravian history to score 1,000 points in a career, and she was named
the tournament’s Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive year. Seaman averaged
16.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last week while shooting 48.6 percent (17 of 35)
from the floor and 93.3 percent (14 of 15) at the foul line in three starts.
In an 88-62 victory over Wilkes University, Moravian’s first game in 24 days, Seaman had
12 points, three steals and two blocked shots. She then hit the 1,000-point plateau in
a 93-44 win versus Albany College of Pharmacy to open the tournament. Seaman had
a season high 20 points in the game to go with eight rebounds, five steals and three assists. Seaman finished
the week with 18 points, seven rebounds, five steals and a pair of blocked shots in a 70-41
victory over Franklin & Marshall College in the championship game.
Moravian, which is 11-1 overall and 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference action this season,
will return to action in a Commonwealth Conference game at Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday,
January 11th at 6:00 p.m. in Annville.
