MORAVIAN’S MacDONALD AND TRIPUCKA NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL
COLLEGE BASKETBALL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE TEAMS OF THE MONTH

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Seniors Heather MacDonald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley HS) and Tyler Tripucka (Glen Ridge, NJ/Glen Ridge HS) from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Scholar-Athlete Teams of the Month for January by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its second luncheon of the 2005-06 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

MacDonald, a forward, has helped the Moravian women open the year with an 11-1 overall record and a 2-0 record in Commonwealth Conference action, just the third time in school history the team has been 11-1 or better after 12 games. MacDonald has contributed 30 points, 19 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots while playing 7.3 minutes per game for Moravian. She is shooting 68.2 percent (15 of 22) from the field, and MacDonald is majoring in historical studies/secondary education at Moravian.

Joining MacDonald on the January Scholar-Athlete Team of the Month were Caitlyn Little from Cedar Crest, Kate McCarthy of Delaware Valley, Kirby Lutz from DeSales, Amy Jones of East Stroudsburg, Katie Harlor from Kutztown and Stephanie Coluccini of Muhlenberg.

Tripucka, a forward, has helped the Greyhounds to a 5-8 record in the first half of the season. Tripucka has contributed 12 points, ten rebounds, two blocked shots, three steals and four assists while playing 6.5 minutes per game. Tripucka, who is majoring in business and minoring in history at Moravian, scored a career high four points in the Greyhounds’ 85-57 victory over Dickinson College last week.

Joining Tripucka on the January Scholar-Athlete Team of the Month were Pat Lenahan of Delaware Valley, Mike Zinn from DeSales, Naveen Mohiuddin of East Stroudsburg, Kevin Hafera from Kutztown and Tom Scott of Muhlenberg.

The final Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon of 2005-06 is scheduled for Tuesday, February 14th at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
