TEAM RANKED
IN 5th NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2006
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team has one player
ranked in the fifth NCAA III Division women’s basketball statistical ranking released
Tuesday while the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in two team categories. The statistics
include games through January 29th.
Junior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS) is tied for ninth
the nation in field goal percentage at 60.0 percent, making 117 of 195 field goal attempts
in the first 18 games of the season. Applegate was the nation’s
leader in the first two NCAA statistical rankings of the year, and she is also listed 59th
in points per game with an average of 17.7.
The Greyhounds are 45th in the nation in scoring average at 72.6 points per game and
tied for 35th in the country in won-lost percentage at 83.3 percent (15-3).
The nationally-ranked Greyhounds are 15-3 on the season and will return to action on
Tuesday, January 31st when the team travels to Albright College in a Commonwealth Conference
game tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Reading.
