EIGHT MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED
IN NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College football team has eight
student-athletes ranked in the NCAA Division III statistical rankings
through games of September 10th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in
the top 50 in one category.
Senior running back Marc Panepinto (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown
HS) leads the nation in kickoff return average with a 42.5
yard average on two returns. Senior linebacker Cliff Garr
(Easton, PA/Notre Dame HS) and sophomore linebacker Andrew
Morrissey (Macungie, PA/Emmaus HS) are tied for second
in the nation in forced fumbles at 2.0 per game while senior defensive
end Nick Feo (Hampton, NJ/Voorhees HS) is tied
for eighth at 1.0 forced fumble per game.
Sophomore running back Tyler deRouen (West Milford, NJ/West
Milford HS) is tied for 21st in the country in rushing
at 123.0 yards per games, and he is also tied for 23rd in scoring
at 12.0 points per game. Sophomore kicker Brian Reckenbeil
(Branchburg, PA/Somerville HS) is tied for 22nd in field
goals per game at 1.0 while senior cornerback Israel Aguila
(Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) and junior defensive back Zach
Santiago (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) are tied
for 26th in passes defended at 2.0 per game.
Moravian is tied for 26th in the nation in turnover margin at
+2.0 as the Greyhounds have forced three turnovers and one committed
one this season.
The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, September 16th
in their 2006 home opener when the team hosts King’s College.
Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.
