MORAVIAN'S SCOTT SHELBO NAMED COMMONWEALTH
CONFERENCE MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE,
PA --- Senior Scott Shelbo (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS)
of the Moravian College men's tennis team has been named the Commonwealth
Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his performance last
week.
Shelbo won a pair of tiebreaker matches in a
5-4 non-conference victory over rival Muhlenberg College last week
in Moravian’s only contest. Shelbo and doubles partner, sophomore
Lee Gustin (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS), rallied
from a 6-3 deficit at second doubles for a 9-8 (7-5) win, giving
the Greyhounds a 2-1 lead after doubles play. After the match moved
inside due to weather, Shelbo earned the deciding
point at third singles with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win.
Moravian, which is 3-1 on the season, is scheduled to return to
action on Wednesday, March 21st in a non-conference game versus
rival FDU-Florham beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Hoffman Courts in Bethlehem.
