MORAVIAN'S CHRISTOPHER MORRISON NAMED ECAC DIVISION III SOUTHERN BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CAPE COD, MA --- Freshman pitcher Christopher Morrison (Middlesex, NJ/Immaculata HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Southern Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Morrison helped Moravian to a 3-0 start to the 2007 Commonwealth Conference season last week. The Greyhounds had won four straight for the first time since the 2002 season last week and are 6-7 under first-year head coach Paul Engelhardt, surpassing the win total from the entire 2006 season in just 11 games.

Morrison, making just his third collegiate start, tossed his second complete game of the season in a 3-1 victory over Susquehanna University. Morrison, who was also named the Commonwealth Conference Pitcher of the Week, allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out seven batters in the game. He also had three assists and the final putout of the contest. Morrison is 2-0 on the season with a shutout.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, March 29th in a Commonwealth Conference game at Juniata College beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Huntingdon.
