THREE MORAVIAN BASEBALL PLAYERS RANKED
IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College baseball team has three players ranked
in the second 2007 NCAA Division III baseball statistical ranking
released Wednesday.
Sophomore outfielder Joseph Durso (Middletown, NJ/Christian
Brother Academy HS) is tied for 35th in the nation in doubles
per game with an average of 0.48. Durso, pictued
at right, has 12 doubles in 25 games this season, and he is hitting
.326 for the year.
Senior
shortstop Pete Moore (Bogota, NJ/Bogota HS), pictured
at left, is listed 40th in the nation in slugging percentage with
a .723 slugging percentage this spring, and he is tied for 42nd
in triples per game with an average of 0.16. Moore,
who is hitting .404 with 38 hits in 94 at-bats, has seven doubles,
four triples and five home runs for 68 total bases in 25 games this
season.
Junior
outfielder Josh Baltz (Easton, PA/Easton HS), pictured
at bottom right, is tied for 49th in the nation in hit by pitch
at an average of 0.38. Baltz, who has a .319 batting
average, has been hit by a pitch eight times in 21 games this spring.
Moravian is 7-18 on the season and 4-11 in Commonwealth Conference
action. The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday,
April 18th in a non-conference game versus Delaware Valley College
in a game moved to Gillespie Field in Bethlehem due to field conditions
in Doylestown.
