MORAVIAN SOFTBALL TEAM & THREE PLAYERS
RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College softball team is ranked in four team
categories and has three players ranked in the second 2007 NCAA
Division III softball statistical ranking released Wednesday.
Sophomore pitcher Kristie Pellicani (Sparta, NJ/Sparta
HS), pictured at right, is tied for 50th in saves with
one, and Pellicani and sophomore pitcher Maria
DeBonis (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame HS) are each just outside
of the top 50 rankings in wins with ten each.
Senior
outfielder Lauren Homa (Chalfont, PA/Chalfont HS),
pictured at left, is ninth in the nation in sacrifice hits per game
with an average of 0.48. Homa has 11 sacrifices
in 23 games.
Sophomore outfielder Erica Klepeisz (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth
HS), pictured at bottom right, is tied for 31st in the
nation in doubles per game with an average of 0.43. Klepeisz
has ten doubles in 23 games this spring.
The
Greyhounds are eighth in the nation in fielding percentage at .972,
and the squad is 13th in earned run average with a 1.39 team ERA,
tied for 14th in win-loss percentage at .833 and tied for 15th in
doubles per game with 2.0. Moravian has 48 doubles in 24 games this
season.
Moravian, currently ranked seventh in the nation, is 20-4 on the
season and 8-0 in Commonwealth Conference action. The Greyhounds
are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 19th in a Commonwealth
Conference doubleheader at Lebanon Valley College beginning at 3:00
p.m. in Annville.
