MORAVIAN’S HACKLEMAN & MILLER
NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS OF THE MONTH
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Senior Jenny Hackleman (Arroyo Grande,
CA/Rutgers Prep {NJ} HS) and junior Ryan Miller
(Easton, PA/Easton HS) from the Moravian College basketball
teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball
Teams of the Month for December by the Lehigh Valley Small College
Basketball Organization at its first luncheon of the 2006-07 season
at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
The
Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of
the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA
Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania
and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools
Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University,
Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.
Hackleman, a forward, has helped the Moravian
women open the year with a 5-4 overall record and a 1-1 record in
Commonwealth Conference action. Hackleman currently
leads the squad in rebounding at 9.0 rebounds per game, and she
is scoring 11.8 points per contest despite missing the first five
games of the year with an injury. Hackleman is
just nine rebounds shy of fifth all-time at Moravian with 621, and
she is 86 points shy of becoming the 18th player in school history
with 1,000 career points.
Joining Hackleman on the December Team of the
Month were Janelle Morcom from Cedar Crest, Shannon O’Neill
of Delaware Valley, Kirby Lutz from DeSales, Amy Jones of East Stroudsburg,
Lara Dellegrotti from Kutztown and Lauren Boyle of Muhlenberg.
Miller,
a guard, has led the Greyhounds to a 4-6 record in the first month
of the season. Miller is second on the squad in
scoring at 13.9 points per game, and he leads the team with 14 three-pointers.
Miller has also contributed si24 assists and 13
steals. He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the New York
University Tip-Off Tournament.
Joining Miller on the December Team of the Month
were Isaiah Pinckney of Delaware Valley, Phil Stricker from DeSales,
Channon Easley of East Stroudsburg, Dave Ben from Kutztown and Jimmie
Riggins of Muhlenberg.
The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled
for Tuesday, January 16th, 2007 at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
