MORAVIAN’S ERIC WHITMAN NAMED TO
COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
ANNVILLE,
PA --- Junior forward Eric Whitman (Blairstown, NJ/Notre
Dame East Stroudsburg {PA} HS) of the Moravian College
men’s basketball team has been named to the Commonwealth Conference
men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for his performance last
week.
Whitman led Moravian to a 1-1 week last week
in Commonwealth Conference action. Whitman tossed
in a career high 25 points and added four rebounds, two assists
and two steals as Moravian defeated Lebanon Valley College 94-87
in conference action. Whitman then had 20 points,
eight rebounds and two assists in an 80-76 loss to Juniata College.
Whitman made 56.5 percent of his field goal attempts
(13 of 23), 60.0 percent of his three-point attempts (six of ten)
and all ten of his free throw attempts during the week. Whitman,
who entered the season having never reached double digits in scoring
in a game, now has three 20-point games this season and has been
in double figures in seven of Moravian’s 15 games.
Moravian, which is 8-7 overall and 1-3 in Commonwealth Conference
action this season, will return to the court on Wednesday, January
17th in a Commonwealth Conference game at Albright College beginning
at 8:00 p.m.
