MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM,
TWO PLAYERS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team is ranked
two categories in the third NCAA III Division women’s basketball
statistical ranking released Wednesday, and the Greyhounds have
two players ranked. The statistics include games through January
14th.
Freshman guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep
HS), pictured at right, is ranked 14th in the nation in
free throw percentage, connecting on 87.8 percent (43 of 49) of
her free throw attempts while senior forward Kelly Applegate
(Easton, PA/Wilson HS), pictured below, is ranked 50th
at 83.5 percent (76 of 91) at the foul line.
The
Greyhounds are 12th in the nation in free throw percentage at 74.9
percent (263 of 351), and Moravian is 20th in the country in steals
per game with an average of 14.8.
Moravian is 9-6 on the season and will return to action on Saturday,
January 20th in a Commonwealth Conference game versus Elizabethtown
College tipping off at 4:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
