MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM,
TWO PLAYERS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team is ranked
two categories in the fourth NCAA III Division women’s basketball
statistical ranking released Tuesday, and the Greyhounds have two
players ranked. The statistics include games through January 21st.
Freshman guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep
HS), pictured at right, is tied for 11th in the nation
in free throw percentage, connecting on 87.7 percent (50 of 57)
of her free throw attempts while senior forward Kelly Applegate
(Easton, PA/Wilson HS), pictured below, is tied for 48th
at 83.0 percent (78 of 94) at the foul line.
The
Greyhounds are ninth in the nation in free throw percentage at 74.9
percent (293 of 391), and Moravian is 17th in the country in steals
per game with an average of 14.7.
Moravian is 10-6 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday,
January 24th in a Commonwealth Conference game at nationally ranked
Messiah College tipping off at 6:00 p.m. in Grantham.
